About the Children's Research Center

Children's Research (CR) was created in 1993 as a part of the Arkansas KidChildren's Research Center- kid photos Count Program. Children's Research is a major source of information on the well-being of Arkansas' children and their families. Indicators in the CR database include demographics for each county, the safety and security of children, health, education, and economics.

Children's Research collects, coordinates, and disseminates information from the Census State Data Center and state government sources, including:

Department of Human Services
Department of Education
Department of Health
Department of Finance and Administration
Department of Workforce Services

Additionally, CR engages in and facilitates research on issues affecting children and families, performs contract database management work for various clients, and publishes reports. The information and services available from CR are extremely useful for research, grant applications, economic and community development, planning, and policy development.
