The Center for Economic Development Education (CEDE) at the UALR Institute for Economic Advancement (IEA) offers training, planning, technical assistance and development services to economic development organizations and community leaders.

  • Training complements career development programming already available for professionals in economic development and prepares volunteer leaders and local elected officials for their participation in their communities' economic development programs.
  • Technical assistance provides communities with the critical information and analysis they require to make economic development decisions as local leaders move their communities forward.

Our products and programming are applied and address real-world economic development issues with solutions at the community and regional level.  The Center for Economic Development Education serves clients across the entire economic development spectrum; from economic development corporations and chambers of commerce to leaders in Arkansas’ communities and counties, and from state and regional agencies to state associations and private enterprises.

The Center for Economic Development Education is a program unit of the Institute for Economic Advancement in UALR’s College of Business.  Our staff bring with them years of experience in applied economic development and training.  For more details on our team, view our staff bios.
