Union
Women: Strengthening the Labor Movement
July 29 -
August 2, 2005
Join union women from
all over the South for four days of training and networking.
Women representing a variety of unions, jobs, and backgrounds
come together to develop organizing and leadership skills and
to be energized and inspired for their work in the labor movement.
Participants attend two workshops over four days, as well as
general sessions on current economic, political, and legislative
issues affecting unions and workers. Instructors and speakers
are university labor educators and union staff members.

- Registration
Deadline: July 8, 2005. A confirmation letter

- Seminar
Check-In: July 29, 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
- Seminar
Hours: The program will open on Friday July 29
at 6:30 p.m. and will end by 1pm on Tuesday August 2.
- Registration
Fee: $320
Fee includes four breakfasts, three lunches, instruction,
and materials. No refunds can be made after June 30.
- Hotel Accommodations: Not
included in the registration fee. You must make your own
reservations. The room rate is $72 for single occupancy and
$82 for double occupancy, plus tax. Please mention the Southern
School for Union Women to receive this rate.
- Travel
Information: Air travel to Hot Springs is through
Little Rock National Airport, with a van shuttle to Hot
Springs.
- Local Sites
and Activities: The William Jefferson Clinton
Presidential Library and the Central High Visitors Center
and Museum are located in Little Rock. The Hot Springs
National Park includes historic bathhouses and spas.
- Scholarships: A
limited number of partial scholarships are available. You

deadline is June 1, 2005.
