RUSSELL D. HARRINGTON, JR., FACHE, is president and chief
executive officer of BAPTIST HEALTH, which is composed of
five hospitals (1,203 total licensed beds), Parkway Village,
Inc. (a retirement community), Parkway Health Center (a 75-bed
skilled care facility), Parkway Heights (a residential care
facility), and a medical service organization. Prior to becoming
president of BAPTIST HEALTH in January 1984, Mr. Harrington
served as associate executive director of BAPTIST HEALTH,
administrator of BAPTIST HEALTH Medical Center-Little Rock,
executive director of Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas
City, assistant administrator of BAPTIST HEALTH Medical Center-Little
Rock and administrative assistant at the University Hospital
in Little Rock.
Mr. Harrington received a B.S. from Arkansas State University
in Jonesboro and a Master’s Degree in Health Services Management
from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
Mr. Harrington is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare
Executives (FACHE); a member of the Arkansas Hospital Association
(past board member and board chairman), serving as a member
of the Council on Government Relations; a member of the American
Hospital Association; a board member of Parkway Village, Inc.;
a board member of BAPTIST HEALTH Foundation; a board member
of Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce; a board member
of Fifty for the Future; a board member of Pulaski County
United Way; a member of Little Rock Rotary Club (past board
member); a past board member of VHA Inc., currently serving
as a member of the Membership/Shareholder Evaluation Committee;
a member of Knights of the Healthcare Roundtable; a board
member of the Arkansas Institute for Performance Excellence;
a past commissioner of Health Services Commission for the
State of Arkansas; a past president of Baptist Healthcare
Organization (formerly Baptist Hospital Association) of the
United States; a past president of Arkansas Administrators
Forum; a past president of Metropolitan Hospital District;
a past member of the National Advisory Panel of the Child
Care Action Campaign; a past advisory board member of Arkansans
for Drug Free Youth; a past board member of Central Arkansas
Radiation Therapy Institute; and a past board member of the
VHA Health Foundation.

He and his wife, Donna, have two children (Stephanie and
Brooks) and are members of Immanuel Baptist Church where he
