The eight hundred fifty-four (854) organizations that responded to the questionnaire reported a total of 28,612,351 hours of volunteer service contributed by volunteers. The dollar value of these volunteer hours is approximately $629,154,595. For the State of Arkansas to provide equivalent amount of services using general tax revenue, the state’s personal income would have to increase by $13,909,033,572. That represents an increase of 15.6 percent in the state’s personal income.
